Screen Films. Raise Funds. Keep Winter Wild.
For the past 20 winters, Backcountry Film Festival has been a resource for Winter Wildlands Alliance partners and community members to raise funds for their efforts in protecting opportunities for human-powered winter recreation. It also helps to spread the word about the pleasures of backcountry skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and any other human-powered snow activity while building excitement for the fresh season.
“Nothing brings the solitary backcountry skiers out of the woods more than a night of films, beer, and community.”
Gus B. (Wenatchee, WA)
“When I found myself hibernating metaphorically from the wild outside, this festival got me excited to get back out there again, the cold be damned.”
Megan G. (Syracuse, NY)
“The Winter Wildlands Alliance puts together a thoughtful selection of films that our community is eager to view, and the event allows our community to connect and welcome others into the fold.”
Silvia C. (Williamstown, MA)
“Hosting the Backcountry Film Festival has been a fun and effective way to celebrate winter and build community in Mt. Shasta. It helps us raise essential funds for our Ski School Program and we look forward to it every year.”
Jenna K. (Mt. Shasta, OR)
