The SnowSchool Weather Station was installed in 2015 in collaboration with the US Forest Service, Bogus Basin, MesoWest and WWA. Located in the Boise National Forest, the station’s primary purpose is to enhance the learning experience of thousands of K-12 students who attend the Bogus Basin SnowSchool program every winter. By providing classrooms with online snowpack data the weather station helps kids learn about science all winter long! (check out our Snowpack Prediction Contest) The weather station also provides Nordic skiers with current conditions, and serves as a testing ground for weather instruments deployed by the Rocky Mountain Research Station.
